PLN #3

I think "The Most Dangerous Game," by Richard Cornell, is a very interesting book that has a lot of irony and reveals a lot about certain characters. For example, Rainsford is a hunter who doesn't think the animals he kill have feelings or anything. He then becomes the huntee and realizes that all the animals feel is fear when they are running for their lives from him. The general is also revealed when he thinks that Rainsford is dead and thinks that he wins, he thinks he is good enough to do that until Rainsford bested him. This why this book had a lot to do with irony and realization.

PLN #2

For independent reading, I am reading The Deception Point by Dan Brown, and at the beginning of the book there is a military chopper that kills a man and his dogs. They pick him up in the artic where the man is dog sledding. They pick him up and tell him to give them there walkie talkie. They send out a signal, but the man is confused because the radius of the signal is so low they couldn't be contacting anyone near them. They then kill the man's dogs and the man.
I think they killed him to protect themselves from anyone outside the project finding out. They probably don't want outside word going out, so to keep them safe, they have to do what is necessary to ensure that they will not be revealed. This is why I think that some good people do bad things.

PLN #1

The book of my choice that I read during independent reading time is The Deception Point by Dan Brown. It is about Senator Sexton, who is running for president. He is winning the race against his opponent. Sexton decides he needs help from is daughter, Rachel, so he invites her to dinner. He wants his daughter to go out with the president to show that they are not enemies but rather friends who want the same thing. The daughter refuses and she is annoyed when a reporter shows up and she sees how fake her dad acts to the country. The daughter then receives a pager message and she has to return to work. She goes to see her boss to see what the emergency was. He says the president wants to see her, and that startles them both because his reasons seem weird considering she has never met the president.
That is where I stopped reading and that is this weeks summary.
